On this memorable rail journey we’ll explore one-of-a-kind mountain landscapes, the largest salt lake in the world, Lake Uyuni, the highest freshwater lake in the world, the famed Lake Titicaca, and one of the most important archaeological sites on the globe, the historic 15th-century Incan citadel Machu Picchu.
Our expedition begins in the iconic city of Buenos Aires, from which we will fly to Tucuman and make an excursion to the Cafayate Valley, one of the most important wine regions in Argentina. From Cafayate, we’ll travel to Salta, where we’ll take the famous “Tren a las Nubes” up into the high, snow-capped Andes Mountains.
We’ll then pass through the other-worldly landscape of the Uyuni Salt Flats on our way to La Paz, Bolivia. The last leg of the journey leads us to beautiful Lake Titicaca in Peru and to the wonder of the world known as Machu Picchu. Prepare to be astounded.
