This unforgettable train expedition through the majestic Andean mountains combines two breathtaking railway journeys across Chile, Peru, and Bolivia, along with various traditional sightseeing activities focused on trains, mining sites, and the industrial history of the region.
Our journey begins in Tacna, the southernmost Peruvian City, from which we will travel by rail through the remote Andean regions of northern Chile, Bolivia, and Peru. You’ll want to have your camera ready at all times, as the views are some of the most spectacular anywhere in the world. Among our many adventures, we’ll visit the world-famous Machu Picchu before eventually arriving in Lima where, as a fitting end to our mountain journey, we’ll ascend on the famous Lima–Huancayo–Lima train to the second-highest railway station in the world at 4780 m (15,681 ft) above sea level.
Note that this rail expedition is for travelers who don’t mind sacrificing a few comforts for a truly unforgettable experience and who are prepared to encounter possible last-minute changes in the tour program due to unforeseen events.
